I am a self-taught artist who loves nature and paints beautifully detailed flowers, birds, and humorous beach characters. For thirty-eight years reading, math, science, and social studies filled my life along with raising my two sons. So when I retired and my children married I decided to take my mom's advice and give art a try. Since I was no longer confined to a classroom and my children were grown my new found freedom led us on many trips to the beach, gave me time to smell the flowers, and I seemed to acquire a new set of ears that were attuned to the sweet sound of the birds. During the six years of experimenting with acrylic and oil paint, graphite, and colored pencils I decided on pursuing oil and it has become the foundation of my paintings.  I hope you will see the beauty of light breathing through my art".
